Our KeepWell Glass Quilt is traveling to Glasgow to join the exhibition ‘Stories – Whispers from the Past and the Present’, hosted by the Scottish Glass Society and the Contemporary Glass Society. The exhibit opens to the public in Glasgow on Thursday 15 September 2022 and runs until 22 September 2022. The Quilt will then travel with the exhibition where it will be displayed at Wasps Creative Academy, Midmills Building, Stephen’s Street, Inverness, from 4th to 29th October 2022.
More detail about the exhibition is detailed on the Scottish Glass Society’s website:
Both the Scottish Glass Society (SGS) and Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) are grateful to the enthusiastic response to this theme by artists. Fifty artists have submitted seventy pieces of work. The range of exhibits on display reflects the diversity and range of glass practice in the UK, in both contemporary and traditional techniques and processes. What you see in the exhibition is a vibrant and diverse display of highly visual work all using glass as the primary artistic material. All SGS members will receive a copy of the publication produced for this exhibition.
As 2022 is the United Nations designated International Year of Glass, we have added an international dimension to this exhibition by hosting the Glass Society of Ireland’s Glass Quilt. The Irish Quilt is one collaborative artwork incorporating 50 different artist’s work.
